Sarah How
If you’ve attended any of our retreats, you already know that Sarah How is a beloved and consistent presence—offering support, encouragement, and wisdom. A “local gal” from Audubon, MN, Sarah has taken her gift for speaking around the world, using it to teach, train, inspire, and uplift. At this retreat, she’ll be guiding us through interactive ways to deepen our roots in our faith—building the strength we need to weather the unique challenges of adoptive parenting. Sarah is engaging, funny, and always makes the experience meaningful and interactive!

Lexi Kahnk
Lexi's goal as an occupational therapist is to approach the challenges of daily living skill participation with a holistic, dynamic, thoughtful, and goal-oriented treatment plan. By partnering with kids, families, and caregivers, I work to address the underlying factors that impact a child’s routine participation and positively influence the individual and family system quality of life. Lexi has been a part of the Valley Christian Counseling & Wellness team since 2022, and
is a licensed and practicing Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) since 2017.
WHAT IS THE FALL RETREAT?
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Mamas,
We are excited to share the details with you about our 8th annual retreat. This years theme is "Deep Roots" based on Psalm 1:3 "That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither - whatever they do prospers."
Many of us feel mentally, physically, emotionally and relationally exhausted in our adoption journey. We get it. We've been there. Our team is praying for you and planning a day that you can just get away, and feel understood. The speakers will be relevant to your adoption journey and give you perspectives spiritually as well as practically.
Lori & Jeff Kenney, who created Lakes Area Adoption Support in 2018 are veteran adoptive parents, adopting their first child 32 years ago, and 3 more after that. Our story is almost always messy, sometimes overwhelming, and we've walked the road ahead of you and experienced most all of the challenging feelings and situations that can come from raising kids from hard places.
Come to be refreshed, renewed and revived, and connect with other adoptive moms from the region.
