Come and stay at our private lakeside cabin, located on our 8-acre property nestled in the woods. Made especially for adoptive parents, who may be going through potentially very stressful times after adopting their child - as we had also gone through.

MORE ABOUT THE CABIN

Our Cabin is free to use but if you feel so led, you can make a donation towards our ministry to help other adoptive families, but you are not obligated to do so. Our ministry provides books, support, retreats and education to adoptive families in the Detroit Lakes, MN, and surrounding areas.

ABOUT THE CABIN: The cabin is NOT an Airbnb and we do not rent it to strangers. It was built for adoptive couples or our friends and family. The cabin is 260 sq. feet. It does not have a shower though it will have a hot and cold self-contained bathroom sink, and a self-contained RV toilet. There will be a hose/spigot of cold running water outside (instructions will be given when you arrive). We are still working on an outdoor shower for summertime (and not fully sure when it will be ready).

WHAT'S INCLUDED: There is one double bed and one single bed in the loft. You must be able to climb a ladder and be on your knees to sleep up there. There is also a double futon in the living room. The cabin does have air conditioning and also has two fans. Drinking water, paper plates, napkins, utensils, coffee, tea, basic bathroom amenities, sheets, blankets and pillows, lawn chairs, a picnic table, fire pit, board games, and high-speed wireless internet are all provided. We have kayaks, a paddle boat, paddle boards, and a swimming pad to use. We have a variety of life jackets and fishing poles. We have a deck down by the dock for eating or lounging or playing. *At this time there are no pets allowed.*

WHAT'S TO BRING: Beach towels, sunscreen, food, bug spray, swimsuits, a good book,. shampoo or soap to wash in the lake if you wish, and your favorite games.

If you are staying the night, 2 nights maximum stay and if you are coming for day use, 10 hours maximum stay.

We ask that you treat our cabin as if it were your own. Please clean up after yourselves-leave it as you found it. Detailed instructions will be in a binder at the cabin.

Additional Information:   We will be asking you to sign a waiver when you arrive. At this time, we can only accept adults to use the cabin and beach due to liability issues. You are welcome to tell another adoptive or foster-to-adopt couple about this. You can even have a girls get away with a few other adoptive moms! While we will most likely home during your visit, the beach and cabin are private, and a 1-minute walk down a path from our home.
